Bartholomew County’s Water Rescue Team personnel have rescued about 25 people from the flood so far, most of them unhoused people living in camps near the East Fork White River, and also drivers who have ignored high water and road closed signs and become stranded in flood water.

In the last few weeks, I’ve enjoyed the beauty of spring. First, the little white lily of the valley flowers appeared. Next came the cheery daffodils and the small blue Siberian squills. Bushes and trees join in, bringing yellow forsythias, pink magnolias, white flowering pears, and purply pink redbuds. Green leaves grace many bushes while helicopter seeds hang from maple trees.
