Tropical Depression #9 has formed in the Southern Gulf (Bay of Campeche) and is forecast to become Hurricane Isaias prior to landfall along the Central U.S. Gulf Coast late this week.

The stagnant weather pattern with warmer than normal temperatures, humid conditions, and areas of thick morning fog will continue until we get our next cold front.

A pair of disturbances will impact the local area early next week bringing periods of heavy rain which could result in localized nuisance type flooding.

We’ll enjoy the coolest air we’ve seen since mid-March to start the work/school week. Make sure the jackets are ready for the AM bus stop/commute.

Threat for strong to severe t-storms will continue overnight into Sunday morning. The weather should trend quieter for the second half of Sunday.

The local forecast will remain under the influence of high pressure for the next several days.

The average high temperature has fallen below 90° for Baton Rouge.

We will continue to enjoy below normal temperatures for a couple days before a warming trend brings highs back into the mid 90°s by the end of this week.

Afternoon highs will inch hotter and hotter day by day.
