We seem to just skip past Fall weather and move straight to Winter for the weekend and beyond.

Tropical Storm Rafael could come close to our area this weekend.

As of this early morning, we still have Potential Tropical Cyclone Six, which should become Tropical Storm Francine today.

There is a 90% chance of rain today with highs only near 80 degrees.

A Flood Watch is in effect now through 7 p.m. this evening for the Baton Rouge area and adjacent parishes to the south and east for the possibility of heavy rain.

Today looks to be a great weather day with low humidity and a cool start, however, there is an air quality health alert in effect for slightly unhealthy air.

We’re giving you the First Alert to dangerous heat this afternoon.

Rain chances will remain elevated with ample moisture and instability the next several days.

We’ve had a few days without a heat advisory, however, we’ll have one for Saturday across the area from 10 AM until 7 PM Saturday, for heat index readings around 108.

A HEAT ADVISORY has been issued for our viewing area from noon until 7PM Monday for peak heat index values as high as 112!
