Tom Morello turns 60 today — happy birthday, dude! Today, he’s been announced as the latest recipient of the Woody Guthrie Prize, an award started a decade ago to recognize “outstanding contributions to music and activism.” (Last year, the winner was Pussy Riot.)

Primavera Sound is taking place in Barcelona right now, and a portion of the festival will be livestreamed through Amazon Music. The stream will be available through Prime Video and Twitch, and it’ll begin at 1:30PM EST each day, starting Thursday afternoon and running through Saturday.

Earlier this month, Martha Skye Murphy announced her debut full-length, Um, which will be out in a couple weeks. We’ve heard “Need” and “Pick Yourself Up” from it, and today the Best New Band alum is sharing another single, “IRL.” Murphy said: “IRL is about longing to be somewhere else, a digital space maybe, and not being allowed to drive a car while in LA.” Check it out below.

Max Richter has announced a new album, In A Landscape, which will be out in September.

Puscifer wrote and recorded a new song for a comic book series based on American Psycho. Yes, that’s right: the Bret Easton Ellis novel turned iconic 2000 movie has gotten the a comic book treatment, with a story written by Michael Calero and illustrated by Piotr Kowalski and Brad Simpson. The series published its first issue last year and is still ongoing, and now it will have a soundtrack component.

Last fall, the Menzingers released a new album, Some Of It Was True. Today, they’re announcing a deluxe edition of the it, which will be out at the end of the week and include two new tracks. Both of them will be on a limited-edition 7″, which you can pre-order here, and one of them, “Gone West,” is out today.

Last month, the Orange County duo Double Wish announced a new EP, Universe Sometimes, and shared lead single “Periwinkle Pantone.” Today, they’re back iwth a second single, “Papers.”

Another Michael are about to wrap up releasing two albums in the span of a year. Wishes To Fulfill came out in September and Pick Me Up, Turn Me Upside Down will be out at the end of this week. The extended rollout means we’ve heard a bunch of songs from it already, including “Is There A World?,” “Mudslide,” “Seafood,” and “I’m Your Roommate.” Today, there’s one more single to add to the pile before the whole album is released in a few days. Nick Zanca, the NYC-based artist who has put out music as Mister Lies and one-half of Quiet Friend over the years, has announced a new album, Hindsight, which will be out in August. It’s the second album he’s put out under his own name following 2021’s Cacerolazo, which was built around field recordings; he’s describing this one as his first singer-songwriter album, or “the record I have been waiting to make ever since I started making them.”

Last year, the xx’s Romy released her debut solo album Mid Air. Though the xx are back in the studio and Jamie xx has a new record on the way, Romy is still doing stuff on her own. During some shows this spring, she’s been playing a new song that utilizes the chorus from Donna Lewis’ ’90s hit “I Love You Always Forever.” Today, she’s releasing a studio version of “Always Forever” as a single.
