Jack Antonoff is doing the music for a new Romeo And Juliet adaptation that will premiere on Broadway this fall. As The Wrap reports, it’s billed as a reimagining of the Shakespeare play “with the modern political environment in mind.” It’s called Romeo + Juliet, though it apparently has no relation to Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 reimagining with the same title.

On Saturday, Grimes did a DJ set at Coachella. She entered the stage sitting on a giant mechanical spider. “Everyone begged me not to spend most of my Coachella budget on a giant mechanical spider but they were so wrong,” she tweeted a day before the show. “I was not able to rehearse tiding on top of the mechanical spider for safety reasons so if I am unable to gracefully get off the spider plz forgive me,” she tweeted a few hours before the show.

Sublime performed at Coachella on Saturday, the first time that late frontman Bradley Nowell’s son Jakob performed a full set with his father’s old band in public since he officially joined the lineup. Previously, the new-old Sublime played a benefit show in Los Angeles in December. The current Sublime lineup also includes original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh.

Liam Gallagher alternates between fanning the flames of an Oasis reunion and shutting speculation down. Today he’s done the latter in response to Andy Bell of Ride and formerly Oasis (1999-2009), who appeared on a radio show a few days ago and speculated about a reunion of the legendary Britpop band. “I’m gonna say a qualified yeah, I think they will at the end of the day,” Bell said. “I don’t think it looks likely right now but I think life is long, innit?”

Vampire Weekend released their new album Only God Was Above Us on Friday. This weekend, they took over the SiriusXMU channel and did a stripped-back live session where they covered Grateful Dead’s “Peggy-O” and did a few OGWAU songs live for the first time. They were joined by Amber Coffman on backing vocals and Ray Suen on violin. FireHouse frontman C.J. Snare has died at age 64, as his bandmates announced on social media. “It is with great sorrow we are letting the world know we have lost our brother: CJ Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist, and a founding member of Firehouse,” the band wrote. Earlier this year, Snare underwent abdominal surgery due to colon cancer.

Late last year, KISS performed what they said will be their “final show ever” at Madison Square Garden, where they revealed the digital avatars that will be replacing them on the road. Their hologram era will start in 2027. Today, the band announced that they have sold their music rights and their name, image, and likeness to Pophouse Entertainment for a deal estimated to be worth around $300 million, per Bloomberg.
