This year’s list includes an impressive array of honorees working in fields ranging from lithium-ion batteries to sustainable aviation to automatic self-cleaning public toilets.

Luminate Medical, an Irish medical device company developing devices to eliminate hair loss during chemotherapy announced that it has raised more than $5 million in grant financing and a seed round investment, from investors including Elkstone Capital, SciFounders, and Faber VC.

Israeli online education startup Masterschool, which operates a number of tech career-training schools announced that it has raised a $100 million seed round led by Group 11, all in equity and containing no debt.

Israeli construction tech company Buildots, which uses AI and computer vision to improve the accuracy in monitoring construction developments, announced that it has raised a $60 million Series C round. The round was mutually led by Viola Growth and Israeli billionaire’s Eyal Ofer’s O.G. Tech.

Tax software company Column Tax, which provides an API that enables mobile banking and fintech companies to offer tax products to their users, announced today that it has raised a $21.7 million series A. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures with participation from Felicis and Not Boring.

It was in 2015 that the MIT physics grad finally decided to work in a field he’d been passionate about: the pet industry. Webb founded PetPlate, a fresh-cooked pet food company which announced earlier this month that it had raised $19 million dollars in Series B funding round led by Pendulum.

HBS grads Clemens Raemy and Katrin Alberding teamed up with Bruno Pires, and started a company called Kenbi, a care provider in Germany offering full range of professional care-services-at-home. In December of this year, Kenbi raised €23.5 million in a Series A round led by Endeavour Vision.

Earlier this month, TrueNorth, the trucking company that Stedge cofounded and where she serves as CEO, announced that it has raised a $50M Series B round led by Lachy Groom and Sam, Max, and Jack Altman.

Earlier this month, Pace announced that it has raised $18 million, of which $15 million were raised in a Series A led by Pace Capital with participation by Sequoia and BoxGroup, following a previously-unannounced $5 million seed round led by Sequoia Capital.
