Mrs. Jerry Shields, E.J.M. McFadden Jr. and LNJ Foxwoods’ Country House finished second to Maximum Security in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) but was awarded the win via disqualification.

Starlight Racing’s Jouster wired the field as the 8-5 favorite in Keeneland’s April 3 Appalachian Stakes Presented by Japan Racing Association (G2T). The 3-year-old Noble Mission filly got the one mile in 1:36.83 over a “good” course.

There are many paths to reeling in the Derby winner.

Special Reserve took the six-furlong Maryland Sprint Stakes Match Series (G3) in 1:08.91. Earlier in the day Mighty Mischief delivered the fifth win in Pimlico’s Chick Lang Stakes (G3) for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen.

Staton Flurry's Interstatedaydream took command in the stretch and cruised to a 1 1/4-length victory over 12 sophomore fillies in the May 20 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G2) at Pimlico Race Course.

Seth Klarman won his second Preakness (G1) in five years with Early Voting. He and partner William Lawrence won the second jewel of the Triple Crown in 2017 with Cloud Computing.

Nest, the robust sophomore daughter of Curlin who was a dominate force throughout 2022, earned the coveted prize as the top 3-year-old filly of 2022.
