A state board reversed a preliminary substantiated abuse finding against the former teacher — and parents at his previous school say their warnings went unheeded years earlier.

“We are the front door for some of the most vulnerable people in Kansas City,” said Doug Langner, CEO of Hope Faith homeless shelter.

“For 30 years of my life, I’ve been dealing with skeptics. This is affordable housing. And it’s possible,” said Chris Harris.

“I want it to be taken care of for the next 20 or 40 years. I’m just the steward at this time,” said Sondern-Adler house owner Tom Axtell.
