Monday is going to feel more like summer rather than fall! Most of the state can look forward to highs in the low 80s.

Drought conditions in Maine worsened this week for Downeast communities.

The latest Drought Monitor released Thursday shows Severe Drought (D2) conditions expanding across the state.

A low pressure system and cold front will push into the region today. Skies will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing late this morning and continuing through the afternoon and evening.

Hurricane Erin is passing well offshore Friday. Some outer cloud bands will impact the coast, but there will be no rain.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor released Thursday shows Moderate drought conditions (D1) for parts of southern, central and Downeast Maine.

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has announced several Maine airports will be getting funding to support infrastructure improvements.

A frontal system along the the Maine/Quebec border this morning is bringing a few showers to western areas. Another round of showers, and potentially thunderstorms, will pop up in the west and move east through the afternoon and evening.

Clouds this morning will give way to partly cloudy skies this afternoon. A few showers are likely to develop in western and northern Maine this afternoon. A few thunderstorms will also be possible. Clouds and fog will build back in for tonight.
