What trends are we seeing as it relates to food and beverage heading into 2023? We see a focus on sustainability and energy savings as well as the tendencies of end-users to source out planning for expansions and new production lines to local contractors and EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction).

Echo Li is PSG Asia’s product management and marketing director. She has been in the pump industry for 18 years, working for companies based all over the world. Li started her career working for a rotary lobe pump company based in Germany as a sales specialist and marketing manager. The company was establishing itself in China at the time. Since then, Li has worked for pump companies Boerger, Graco and Ingersoll Rand and has been at PSG since January 2019.

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recently presented its report called Failure to Act: Economic Impacts of Status Quo Investment Across Infrastructure Systems. The report showed the effects of what could happen with no investment in aging infrastructure.

The fall has been a weather siege. Hurricane Harvey pummeled Texas and left it covered in water and misery. Irma ripped through Puerto Rico and the islands, and poured floods across the Florida Keys. Maria, Jose and Katia left more devastation in their wakes. Rescue workers came, police and fire and the U.S. National Guard. And so did the dewatering industry—an unheralded first responder—rushing to dry things out. And help those suffering return to normalcy.

Heavy rainfall and flooding delayed Western Michigan University’s homecoming game against Akron, but an all-night effort to pump nearly 2 million gallons out of Waldo Stadium kept the game on track. The game was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14, but torrential rain pounded the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan that afternoon. The 78-year-old stadium is in a flood plain and has three pumps that eject water to a 60-inch concrete pipe that Arcadia Creek flows through.
