A senior at Garrard County High School has turned his trials into treasure.

Superheroes in their own right, the Rameys will be selling their toys at the Bath County High School vendor fair on April 12th, with all proceeds going to the different clubs.

Friday night, it’s Mardi Gras with a twist at Bourbon and the Bayou. The event is a huge fundraiser for CASA of Lexington.

When school leaders realized there was a possibility of students not being in school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, they all came together to make sure their students were fed.

From UK’s President to Kentucky’s Senate President, you’ve seen familiar faces on our airwaves all day long. They all share the same goal, to provide support for flood survivors.

On Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., WKYT will join ARH and WYMT for the Appalachia Strong telethon.

It’s a reality that’s become too common for the people in eastern Kentucky, but flood waters won’t stop them from coming together to support one another in their time of need.

Thanks to the initiative of one man, a melting pot of culture has become a success on the field.

January’s CASA volunteer of the month Destin Mizelle is about to graduate with his doctorate in counseling and psychology from the University of Kentucky.

“I want to make sure that I’m coming in safe and on time so that my patients get good care, and I’m here for my teammates,” said Lawson.

He advises drivers to continue to drive slowly and treat downed power lines as if they are always live.

“All the donations have been donated by our staff and family and friends,” said Wills.
