A nation abandoning academic freedom, policing freedom of thought in the classroom, persecuting freedom of expression on campus, dismantling education, and ripping down its own pillars of world-renowned scientific and medical research, is a nation in the wild-eyed throes of moronic and shameful madness.

I am once again asking Ohio lawmakers to please just feed the children. For all that is good and decent, at long last, with all the strife in the world, would you please at least just make sure schoolchildren aren't going hungry?

If Ohio politics continue on their current trajectory, Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine's final proposed budget might be the last sane, reasonable, compassionate state budget we see proposed from an Ohio governor for quite some time.

Ohio Republican lawmakers want to raise taxes. Specifically, they want to raise taxes on recreational weed by 50% while making it less potent and redirecting all of its tax revenue into their own grubby little hands.

America's love affair with confident stupidity continues to reach awful new heights. The piper will need paid, and the pain will be extensive.

If more Ohio teens are forced out of the closet to families that reject them, more Ohio teens will be forced into homelessness as a result of the new law passed by Republican lawmakers and signed by Gov. Mike DeWine.

Does Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman hate public schools? I'm genuinely asking. He very well might not hate public education. But as an observer, it really comes off like Matt Huffman hates public education.

When people lie to us, they are tacitly calling us stupid and weak. Stupid enough to believe their lies; weak enough to accept them. As such, lying is a contemptuous act. It is anti-social, and a debasement of the trust and order on which we have built civilization.

Ohio lawmakers are currently occupying unconstitutionally gerrymandered seats. This is not a matter of opinion. It was adjudicated by the Ohio Supreme Court five times. It is a fact. And it's why Ohio Issue 1 is now on the ballot.

Bernie Moreno claims he was joking about Ohio women and abortion rights. If he has time to make jokes right now, he should have time to give a straight answer on whether would respect the will of Ohio voters and the Ohio Constitution.
