Have you ever been to Basswood, Oylen or Luce, Minnesota? Photographer Laura Grisamore has been to them all. She has pictures, stories and a burning desire to preserve memories of towns in their twilight.

Minnesota uses miles of snow fences to catch blowing snow before it drifts onto roadways in a typical winter. At a one-of-a-kind test site near Moorhead, researchers are finding a year-round use for the snow fence.

A northern Minnesota trapper recently took the unusual step of giving CPR to an animal caught in a trap. A Department of Natural Resources conservation officer helped release the revived and “very angry” pine marten.
