The RMAA and PACK Act would establish national definitions and standards for recycling, recycled content and recycling claims while helping manufacturers navigate different state requirements.

The state’s Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act was challenged by the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors, alleging violations of the Dormant Commerce Clause and Due Process Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

The state’s legislative session concludes Aug. 31.
