Significant Severe Weather Outbreak Expected Overnight Into Saturday

Cloud cover has limited warming across the region today with high temperatures only reaching the lower and middle 40s. Skies will gradually clear through the evening with calm winds expected overnight.

A 48 FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY continues today for more heavy rainfall and an increasing threat for flooding. Rivers and streams are already running high after one to three inches of rain on Tuesday and several locations could pick up an additional inch or two inches by the evening.

Today has been a beautiful January day with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures trending closer to normal in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Expect increasing cloud cover through the evening hours and calm winds overnight.

A 48 FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY is in effect today for isolated travel impacts due to lingering snow flurries through the afternoon. A localized dusting will be possible for higher elevations, but accumulations will generally be less than half an inch for most areas.

Scattered Snow Flurries Expected Sunday Morning

Today has brought more sunshine with high temperatures warming into the upper 50s and lower 50s this afternoon. Expect increasing clouds through the evening and breezy winds with occasional gusts as high as 15 and 20 miles per hour.

Plenty of sunshine throughout today has allowed high temperatures to climb into the lower and middle 40s. Significant melting continues across much of the Tennessee Valley, and this will help to mitigate the threat for black ice through the evening.

Today will feature gradually clearing skies and high temperatures will be reaching the middle and upper 30s. With sunshine expected by the afternoon, partial melting is likely, and roadways will greatly improve.

Today would be a good day to take care of any last-minute preparations with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies through the afternoon and relatively calm conditions. High temperatures will reach the middle to upper 30s and winds will stay fairly light into the evening.
