WSAZ hired an independent air quality testing company to get answers for people
who live near two Union Carbide plants the EPA said release the cancer-causing
chemical ethylene oxide.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has said Ethylene Oxide emissions
(EtO) were being released into the Kanawha Valley at one of the highest rates in
the country.
WSAZ was finally able to speak with the DEP’s spokesperson on camera, and he claims the DEP did not delay telling the public about these dangerous chemicals.
