The Democrats are bringing out what seems to be the heavy artillery of campaign surrogacy: the Obamas. If Harris' goal is to keep her base energized then Obama is the perfect man for the job. But in counties where she needs to pick up new voters, the Obamas may actually do more harm than good.

I hate that such a consequential moment will come down to a handful of counties. So much is riding on Trump (and his supporters) not taking back the White House. If you, like me, want to defeat fascism so we can turn our eyes toward embracing substantive change, then you know everything that can be done must be done.

On 'Call Her Daddy,' Kamala Harris was able to dig deeper into the concerns women uniquely face, but the interview has been eclipsed by controversy. The fact is Alex Cooper has access to a demographic of women that Harris needs: young white women. Meeting them where they're at is just good strategy.

Kamala Harris lost the election. With Donald Trump as the next president-elect of the United States, we must remember: "The greatest threats to our freedom are hopelessness, helplessness, and the criminalization of rebellion.” What we can control is whether we succumb to defeat. We are only here because we have survived so much already and this moment will be no different.

Today is a day of contradiction. Trump is being inaugurated on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This juxtaposition might be exactly what America needs to see itself more clearly. As Bernice King, stated, “This nation will be confronted with the sharp contrast between my father, who espoused love and justice, and Trump who has often sanction[ed] hatred and injustice.” What will do when face-to-face with who we’ve become as a nation?
