The big bad bill that U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani voted for will drastically ramp up ICE efforts, deplete funds to provide Arizona workers with health care, and risks higher local taxes. Other than that, great work coddling the rich!

Adelita Grijalva should win the Democratic primary by 20 points and glide right into her late father's seat in Congress. However, voters' frustrations with Washington could upend this local race.

Deja Foxx ran as a possible new Democratic phenom but when her primary challenge to the Grijalva legacy fell flat, so did she. The swagger disappeared. The pouting began.

A new idea is cooking with the RTA board to ask voters to fund just half of a 20-year plan and then go back to voters in 2036 and request an extension with changes as required.

Two things can be true at the same time. We can rejoice in the end of a business deal not right for Tucson, while recognizing the local government process was awful, and that's a threat to future economic development.

Climate change programs are losing funding as the world hurtles toward calamity, and Tucson and Pima County start to address rules for data centers — including Tucson large-water users, and the RTA plan gets another review. Plus more in local government meetings this week.

My only request is that they don't do anything stupid with the naming rights. They don't all have to be "Smoothie King Centers" and "KFC Yum! Arenas." If they do go that route, some panache please.
