A lawsuit filed Tuesday in Wyandotte County District Court accuses the Unified Government of failing to publicly disclose records as required under state law.

Videos obtained by The Star on Friday show the officer plant his feet on the doorframe as the engine is starting and shoot the driver in the face as the car speeds down the block.

The officer fatally shot the 25-year-old while hanging from the driver’s side door.

Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree said his office would not retry the cases after a judge dropped the convictions because of an unfair trial.
