Sam LaPorta has been ruled out for the team's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Lions listed 10 other players as questionable, including their TE2.
“That O-line, man, (they) stepped up,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said after the game. “Got us the run game going, protected Goff. It was great, man. It was good to see."
Campbell told 97.1 that the Lions have "looked there" ahead of the trade deadline. He also added they could shift some pieces around on the OL to find the right fit.
It’s the first time since 2021 that the Lions and general manager Brad Holmes haven’t made a trade on deadline day. The one addition they made on Tuesday was to the practice squad.
"But the truth of the matter is nobody has contacted me about anything dealing with a job outside of anything I’m doing right now. And that’s the honest truth."
"So, I looked at everything, and I failed him. That’s what I told him. I have to do a better job with that. But it’s a two-way street. We definitely looked at that."
