The heavy Knicks presence at both Game 3 and Game 4 of the series was so overwhelming that Joel Embiid called out Philadelphia fans and the 76ers organization took extreme measures to make it harder for Knicks fans to get tickets.
The Knicks will open play against the Indiana Pacers on Monday at Madison Square Garden. There will be time to think about that tomorrow. But after the win, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau told his team he wanted them to take a moment to soak it all in.
As fate would have it, the Knicks came up with their worst game of the playoffs at the worst possible time, blowing a six-point lead with 28 seconds left in regulation and then losing, 112-106, in overtime.
“We should be 2-0. We’re good,” Embiid said after the Knicks won Game 2. “We’re going to win this series. We’re going to win this. We know what we gotta fix. We did a better job today so we’re going to fix it. We’re the better team.”
