Old man saltbush, also known as bluegreen saltbush or giant saltbush, is an edible native Australian shrub rich in protein, antioxidants and minerals that is lightly salty with earthy, green tea characteristics. Karkalla (also known as pigface or beach banana) is an Indigenous edible succulent commonly found in coastal areas and can be made into a wonderful vinegar dressing to pair with the crispy old man saltbush.
