The 66 students admitted to Yale through the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship are the first to join Yale’s class of 2027. Across the entire program, a record-high 1,755 applicants from low-income backgrounds received a full scholarship to one of the 48 prestigious universities that partner with QuestBridge.

The expiration of section 568 of the 1994 Improving America’s Schools Act has raised questions about the Ivy League’s ability to refrain from offering merit-based scholarships.

On Dec. 15 at 5:00 p.m., Yale offered 776 early action applicants a seat in the College’s class of 2027, out of almost 7,800 applicants. About 1,626 students were deferred for consideration during the regular decision round, with 5,188 denied admission.
