What happened: Associated Press photographer Evan Vucci won a prestigious journalism award this week for his iconic shot of President Donald Trump moments after he was nearly assassinated during a 2024 campaign rally in Butler, Pa. The unforgettable image, featuring Trump surrounded by Secret Service agents, his fist raised in defiance under a crane-mounted American flag as blood trickles down his cheek, was named Photo of the Year on Monday by the White House News Photographers Association.

Not surprisingly, there is a long history—dating back to the 1970s—of so-called climate scientists and government bureaucrats making catastrophic predictions about the environment that never materialized. Here are 10 of the most egregious examples. Enjoy!

Ladies and gentleman, the Democrats. Al Green, the 77-year-old congressman from Texas, was ejected from the House chamber Tuesday evening for obnoxiously disrupting President Donald Trump's joint address to Congress. As soon as Trump bragged about having won the popular vote, which he did, Green stood up (gingerly) and waged his one-man resistance campaign by shouting nonsense and waving his cane.

MSNBC, the embattled left-wing network sometimes referred to as "MSDNC," hired another liberal journalist with close ties to the Democratic Party. Jackie Alemany is leaving the similarly embattled Washington Post, where her reporting focused on the Jan. 6 incident and Donald Trump's various legal challenges. She is joining MSNBC as a Washington correspondent and cohost of a new weekend show alongside Jonathan Capehart, a partisan Democrat, and Eugene Daniels, the recently hired "Kamala Harris expert" known for his bold fashion sense and love of Beyoncé.

Many journalists and other liberal activists freaked out on Wednesday after Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder and compassionate steward of the failing Washington Post, expressed his support for "personal liberties" and "free markets." The billionaire's remarks came in a bland memo to Post staff announcing changes to the paper's opinion section, as well as the departure of opinion editor David Shipley, who evidently did not share Bezos's view that freedom is good.

The first existential crisis of Donald Trump's second term is upon us. Hooters, the iconic casual dining chain best known for its decades-long commitment to male camaraderie and female empowerment, is reportedly on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. The storied franchise has been struggling to overcome financial difficulties such as mounting debt and declining foot traffic at its nearly 300 locations across the United States, and recently engaged a law firm to explore a potential Chapter 11 filing, though no final decision has been made. The future of American prosperity is at stake.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) has once again managed to enrage some very annoying people by writing and publishing a collection of words. Almost five years after liberal journalists whined about feeling "unsafe" because the New York Times published Cotton's op-ed about restoring law and order in American cities, the Republican senator has just released a new book about China that has thoroughly aggravated a handful of Chinese communists and other joyless incels, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis of book reviews on the Barnes & Noble website.

Jeffrey Toobin, the CNN analyst and New York Times contributor who suffered minimal consequences after "revealing his source" and "pumping it for information" on a Zoom call with fellow journalists in October 2020, is an expert on so-called cancel culture and Donald Trump's alleged efforts to abolish it. That's according to Politico, which in its "Playbook" newsletter cited Toobin as knowledgable about how Trump is "canceling cancel culture." For some reason, the liberal news blog—located many, many floor beneath the Washington Free Beacon's global headquarters—neglected to explain that Toobin was fired from the New Yorker (but not CNN) for "adjusting his mic" and "running down a hot tip" while his colleagues looked on in horror.

President Donald Trump has revolutionized the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts by ousting 18 Democratic appointees from the board of trustees and replacing them with normal Americans. On Wednesday, the new board unanimously elected a fabulous chairman (Trump) who is determined to preside over a "Golden Age of Arts and Culture" in this country after four years of vapid slop under former president Joe Biden. "I think we're going to make it hot," Trump said on a conference call with Kennedy Center board members. "And we made the presidency hot, so this should be easy."

Aidan Maese-Czeropski, the former legislative aide to Sen. Ben Cardin (D., Md.) who lost his job after filming a backdoor sex romp in a Senate hearing room, has launched a new career as an independent sex worker. Before his retirement this year, Cardin served alongside notorious Democratic pervert Ted Kennedy as well as convicted felon Bob Menendez, also a Democrat.
