The Estevan Bruins traded Caelan Fitzpatrick to the Brooks Bandits for future considerations, according to the Bandits' website. Fitzpatrick, a Niagara University Div. I commit, tallied 28 goals and 48 points in 2021-22 as an 18-year-old. The Moose Jaw native also tacked on eight points in 14 playoff games in the Bruins' run to capture the SJHL Championship. Fitzpatrick was the top-scoring player eligible to return to Estevan for the coming season. He joins a Bandits club coming off winning the Centennial Cup Championship in Estevan.

Estevan's AA hockey teams played in seven games over three levels on the weekend, winning them all. The 18U Apex Bruins outshot the Moose Jaw Warriors 56-20 Sunday at Affinity Place in a 5-2 win. Carter Beck had two goals for Estevan. Kaden Chrest, Turner Knockaert, and Landon Kaban scored the others. Keagan Carley made 18 saves for the win in net. Knockaert scored two goals, including the game-winner, in a 7-5 home win for the Apex Bruins Saturday over the Yorkton Terriers. Ty Fehrenbach made 25 saves for the win. And Beck had two goals and an assist in Friday's 5-2 home win over the Warriors. Carley turned aside 16 shots for the win. The 24-3-1 Apex Bruins are on an eight-game win streak.
