In late January, a chain-link fence was installed on Forest Park Parkway due to concerns from both the University and local government officials, causing students to voice their opposition to the decision.

At a Student Union (SU) Treasury meeting on February 28, Quiz Bowl representatives claimed that Treasury representatives were perpetuating gender inequity by allocating less hotel funding than the group requested, sparking a conversation among representatives about precedent for funding as it relates to gender.

Protesters have spoken out against Washington University’s administration after the WashU Police Department (WUPD) carried out more than 100 arrests at a pro-Palestine encampment, with some calling the response unnecessarily violent, April 27.

Maya Anopolsky, a rising senior at Washington University, passed away on May 28 after having an allergic reaction that paramedics were unable to control through medication. She was 21 years old.  She is remembered by her parents, Jennifer and Sanford Anopolsky, and her two younger brothers, Robert and Max, as well as countless friends from WashU, high school, summer camp, and more. 

We cannot continue with this age-old excuse that WashU simply isn’t a sports school. It’s uninspired. So set the culture yourself — wrangle a group of friends, dig up a green or red shirt, and bring the energy.

Oh, the hot dog. An American staple that conjures up images of backyard barbecues on the Fourth of July, watching your favorite baseball team from the stands, and maybe even a trip to Coney Island.
